With BDO Lead, we have developed a tool to help you meet the requirements of IFRS 16 for leasing contracts. Based on the information found on the following pages, we provide you with a comprehensive overview of the features of our solution. Furthermore, we offer you a free trial.
The European Union has accepted IFRS 16 requirements for application in Europe. This means that the change in lease accounting takes effect for financial years beginning on or after 1 January 2019. In the future, almost every type of lease will be recognized on the balance sheet. This will put an end to the currently prevailing culture of lease structuring. Reporting entities will need to chart a new course and reassess existing leases.
In addition to the substantive review, the transition will also have an organizational component that should not be underestimated. Recognition of all leases can only be ensured when a list of leases with relevant parameters is drawn up. The success of the project therefore depends to a large extent on how the data set is compiled and how the rules are applied. BDO LEAD helps you effectively manage the "Understanding" and "Analysis" phases and get to the application of the rules (transition) as quickly as possible. The use of (partially) automated solutions is particularly suitable for the collection and analysis of mass data (e.g. contracts). BDO LEAD's IT-based solution, developed by IT and financial reporting experts in our accounting advisory group, will provide you with focused support in your transition to IFRS 16 or ASC 842 and subsequent reporting. BDO LEAD enables central storage and continuous lease maintenance.
